Briarwood Project
This beautiful Arts & Crafts home is full of charm from a bygone era. It's a very special place for the well-travelled owners, who were ready to put down roots with their teenage children in the quaint Victorian seaside town of Llandudno, North Wales. It's a home designed for entertaining while finding quiet spaces within to unwind and read a book; a house that leads you into its rooms, begging you to discover and explore them.

Project Type: Residential
The ornate ceiling details, large bay windows, and architectural elements characteristic of the Arts & Crafts movement were key features that needed to harmonise with the home's modern transformation. Drawing inspiration from the Arts & Crafts ethos, we incorporated layered materials and a colour palette influenced by the nearby seaside. This approach seamlessly blended the old with the contemporary, ensuring each room reflected a modern interpretation while honoring its historical charm.
Natural textured materials like marble, walnut veneer and slate are a unifying element throughout the home, as are the sustainable reusing of materials like the terrazzo fireplace surround we used in the doorway thresholds. Each bedroom has its own unique personality, just like the people that occupy it. Taking inspiration from books, materials, and colour, we curated each space to tell a story that is as intentional as it is practical.
